PLEASANT GROVE, UT – USA Youth Education in Shooting Sports (USAYESS) teams raised $110,364.72 on Giving Tuesday for their Team Endowment Accounts held at MidwayUSA Foundation. Giving Tuesday, which fell on November 30th this year, is the official kickoff to the giving season and the perfect time for donors to make a tax-deductible contribution to youth shooting sports. Donations were made to 31 USAYESS team endowment accounts. This year USAYESS teams raised 38% more than what was raised last year. The MidwayUSA Foundation's Team Endowment program provides funding in perpetuity to promote youth shooting sports activities.

Of the amount raised, $47,560.38 came from donors through online donations made to various team endowment accounts on MidwayUSA Foundation's website. Each contribution was matched by MidwayUSA Foundation from funds personally donated by Larry and Brenda Potterfield, adding $42,804.34. Further, USAYESS offered a match, again made possible from funds personally donated by Larry and Brenda Potterfield, adding $15,000. Another $5,000 was donated to USAYESS teams via GivingTuesday incentives offered by MidwayUSA Foundation.

“We would like to thank the Potterfields, the MidwayUSA Foundation, and our many generous donors for their unwavering support in the USAYESS youth shooting program,” said Katrina Pearce, Assistant Coach of Ogden Clay Dusters. “Over the past 3 years, our community has truly embraced the Ogden Clay Dusters and shown unbelievable support to our team. The Giving Tuesday through USAYESS has afforded us the opportunity to grow our MidwayUSA Foundation endowment account so we may extend the opportunity of shooting sports to all athletes wishing to participate. It has turned dreams into goals and goals into realities for many of our shooters. Being the fastest-growing team in the state last year, we would not have been able to maneuver the growth challenges without the financial support offered. It is terrific to see the love and support given to our Ogden Clay Dusters from family and friends, but even more amazingly, from strangers who believe in what we are doing for the youth. Our goal is to assist these youth in growing, learning, being part of something enriching, and helping them to be the best they can be at their sport.  USAYESS has proven to be our avenue to success.“

USAYESS Endowment Accounts at MidwayUSA Foundation currently hold over $10 million for youth shooting sports.

"We are extremely grateful for the donations made to the team endowment at MidwayUSA Foundation," said Brian Beard, President, USA Youth Education in Shooting Sports. "Our partnership with MidwayUSA Foundation is a critical component in ensuring the future of youth shooting sports. The donations made to the endowment accounts and the added support from Larry and Brenda Potterfield, not only help the student-athletes today but ensure that youth shooting sports continues to have sustainable funding far into the future."
