Colville, WA - USA Youth Education in Shooting Sports (USAYESS) has made their Abuse Prevention Training, provided by Abuse Prevention System, available to the public. USAYESS has been seeing increased requests for their online abuse prevention training to be made available to parents of the athletes within their organization. Previously, the training was only available to Coaches, Assistant Coaches, and Volunteers in the organization.

"As the nation's premier youth shooting sports program, USAYESS is leading the way to ensuring a safe and positive environment for its participant’s physical, emotional, and social development and to ensure that it promotes an environment free from abuse and misconduct," explains Mike Borg, President, USAYESS. "One of the ways we go about this is to require that every adult member in our program goes through a background check and our Athlete Protection Training (APT) annually. In order to ensure that the parents are kept informed on their athletes or child's safety, we have the same APT course available to the parents, guardians and other family members."

The training can be found in the Parent Resources section of the Resources tab on USAYESS.org.

"Even if their child does not participate in sports, this course is a must," continues Borg.

The cost of the online course is $20.00 and is payable during the online registration link.
